After a pretty good drought last year which continued through winter, we've had good rainfall this spring and are finally out of drought status. Even though we've had consistent rains, we had a cool spring, and prairie growth is about 2 weeks later than it was last year. Right now blooms are just starting.
I took these pictures on an overcast morning and tried to match their natural lighting when processing.
Duncan is 13 years old now and looks great for his age...and still acts like he's 2. Peyton is almost 2, and although more obedient than Duncan has ever been, still has her teenage moments. Today they went to the groomers which is mainly for Duncan, but Peyton gets her nails and ears done. This evening's overcast sky gave some good light to snap some pics in the small timeframe while they are clean.
This winter was great for viewing Bald Eagles along the Platte River. There were times I counted over 50 of them in a single area. I got a new Sigma 150-500mm lens for my camera and this was my first time taking pictures of eagles with it, and I later learned that I didn't have the best camera settings for the conditions. I did get a few decent shots and the experience of watching them can't be beat.
